Chronobreak [Act 1] A story written by Amjad Haziq
Do you know what it feels like being alone? In an unknown world? Without remembering anything about yourself? or people around you? I do. But now I know the truth. This world is not the world you think it is.

Act 1
This is a story about me. I had no name. No family. No friends. No one that have any idea where I came from. I'm starting to question myself. Who Am I?
It all started on May 21st, 1998. I was asleep in a bush located in a park at seven in the morning until I heard birds chirping and woke me from my sleep. I realised that I was alone there, wondering where am I, and not being able to remember a single thing. Not even my name. The only thing that I know Is that I'm a boy, and I had a scar on my right palm. I came out from the bush. The weather was a little chilly. At first, I didn't realise that I was asleep in a park, until I found out that there was a broken slide and swing. Everything seems very old. Seems like it was abandoned. But why would I be here? This feeling, I'm tired. My stomach are growling.
Where....... am...... I?
I went for a walk to find something, or someone, but the only thing that I found is abandoned buildings. The doors are locked so I went through the window. I saw chairs, and drawings on the walls. Looks like a children's drawing, Then I stepped on a white thing. It was a chalk. I think I'm starting to know where I am. I walk a little more until I found a room.Yes, it was a classroom.So this must be a school building. And that park, no mistake about it. I'm in a school. Perhaps a Primary School.
I'm starting to wonder why I was sleeping there. Is this my school? If so, there must be something related to myself here. But It's worthless since I couldn't remember anything. I ran to a window. It was dusty so I wipe it with my hand. I saw my face, for the first time. I realised I had another scar on my cheek. I'm wearing a jacket that doesn't seem fit for a child like me. It looked big while I'm wearing it. It must belong to someone else. I began searching anything that could give me an answer to the situation I'm having. I hate it because I'm tired and my stomach is starting to growl again. Then I stumbled over a rock, and a piece of paper came out of my jacket. I'm astonished to see that it's written something on it. I took it and read it. It says........... "Save Us" -Octavia.
"Save Us"? Who am I? Was this letter meant for me? As far as I'm concerned I'm just a lost boy........ or am I? I began to ran to every class searching for clue. I can't find anything! I began searching on other block, hoping that I could find the answer to this question, but nothing. I felt angry and tired. I threw a rock as hard as I could. Then I began to cry a little. As I wipe my tears, I heard a sound. It didn't sounded very clear so I plug in my ears and hear it again. It didn't sound like a human at all. I quickly hide in a wardrobe and shut my mouth. Then, something walked into the room.
I quietly sit inside the wardrobe. I wanted to know what it was so I slowly open the door. I saw it. It's not a human. It's a creature, I can't really tell what it looks like. Sharp claws, green eyes, a werewolf-like creature, and slightly bigger than an adult. The creature was just about to leave the room until I accidentally sneeze.
Crap! It heard me. I can't help it. The wardrobe was very dusty. I stay put inside the wardrobe as it walk into the room again. This time, it's behaviour is different, That thing knew someone was in this room. It walked towards me and smashes the wardrobe's door. I only had a glass bottle with me so I quickly threw to it's head. Of course it didn't do anything so I ran outside and shut the door. I locked it with a broom stick, and ran away as far as I can.
The creature then screams loudly and smashes the door. It chased me very quick. I can't even hold on to my feet. Then I reached a dead end. At that moment I knew I'll be dead for sure. I sit at the corner. I closed my eyes. The creature reaches me, and a bang sound was heard. The creature then screams and became quite. I opened my eyes to see that it's dead. Then a teenage guy appeared behind the creature. I believe he's the one who shot the thing and saved my life.
Then he points his gun to me, asking, "WHO ARE YOU!?*

PS : This would be the first chapter of Chronobreak. Just a random story I made up. I'm not really a good narrative essay writer so there must be a lot of grammar mistakes 😅 Do ignore it. Actually, you can correct my grammar in the comment section down below. I would appreaciate it :D
